At the very least, a reasonable alternative – no, expecting Saddam to be cooperative in disarming is not reasonable – would be nice. Iraq getting nuclear weaponry and becoming another North Korea is a tremendously bad idea. I don’t see how lifting the sanctions on Iraq, as the sign behind Mr. Mullen suggests, would be of any help.

I’d suggest holding an “anti-stupid” march in honor of all of those who have been marching ‘for peace’ as of late, but since marching is itself a stupid act, there can be no such thing as an “anit-stupid” march. Haha. Oh, and the dude looks to be around 35. If you really think he looks like he’s in his twenties, then the twenty year olds you know are aging poorly.

Rather than participating in a flame war I’ll just give my opinion: This is Larry’s way of expressing himself and I think that’s cool. Bono’s quote about Africans wasn’t meant to wave away the discussion on war but to point out to the world that it is very sad that so many ppl would die but that even more die each year of aids. That’s his mission.

I wan’t entirely convinced that was Larry in the picture either. The march seems an unlikely thing he would do considering he prefers to remain anonymous. But, after seeing the link to the other picture of him at the premier in the same coat, I was convinced it was him. Still think it seems uncharacteristic despite what his views may be.

I don’t think he looks so young. I think that saying it has become so cliche’ a lot of people say it no matter what. He looks his age, which, contrary to popular internet belief, really isn’t all that old at all.

itsme, I don’t think Mickey ever denied Larry his ‘free speech.’ Of course we are all willing to say what we like, and we all must realize that we sometimes suffer the consequences for it too. I think Mickey just meant, don’t come back to NYC hugging and wearing the flag, it’s not gonna play now that everyone knows their true feelings. I have no problem with anyone being against the war, but when they value the lives of Iraqis and not our servicemen, or they act like we are this big evil bad guy then still want our money, yeah, I got a problem with that. Not accusing anyone in particular, just in general.

why do people equate “anti-war” with “anti-America”? i love America, but i don’t necessarily think it’s absolutely necessary right now to go to war and lose American lives while destroying lives in Iraq.
