Best of Propaganda book

Carlton Books are to release U2: the Best of Propaganda: 20 Years of the U2 Magazine.

U2’s official fan magazine, Propaganda, was launched in 1986. 31 issues were published, but things have been quiet around the magazine since the last issue. Rumours concerning its demise surfaced during the Elevation tour. The website states: “We are awaiting a final decision from the band as to how Propaganda will officially go away.”

From Amazon.co.uk’s synopsis: “This lavish, beautiful coffee-table book compiles the finest moments, wittiest essays, most candid interviews and beautiful photography from the magazine’s twenty year existence and reproduces them in their original design and typography.”

Bono’s sound advice for Beyonce

Destiny’s Child’s Beyonce says she got advice from Bono over dinner at his French home. He told her not to split from Destiny’s Child despite her solo success:

“He’d been watching us and liked the fact that we were doing solo projects and group projects because it kept the fans interested.

“The hunger is always there – it seems groups have a short span, but when you do different things it keeps your career a little longer and he said that it was wonderful for us to stick together.”

Tour 2004 Gossip

Nothing out-of-the-ordinary about these RUMOURS re: a possible 2004 U2 tour… a fan who recently attended a Rolling Stones gig and chatted with their tech & security folks (who often work with U2) says that there will “maybe” be an indoor North American tour starting in April or May of 2004, with Europe to follow in the September/November range. If it’s successful, they’ll go outdoors in 2005. Take it or leave it…
