Oh So Blu

R&B artist Blu Cantrell may be collaborating with Bono on a duet in the near future. Speaking to the Daily Star, Blu revealed: “I met Bono at a party and we had a great conversation. He said he was a fan and I told him I loved his music — so let’s hook up.”

If the collaboration happens, the song may appear on the duet album Bono is rumored to be compiling to raise funds for one of the charities in which he is involved.

MuchMusic Talks with Bono

Tomorrow MuchMusic will air an exclusive interview with Bono, which was conducted the day after his appearance at the Liberal Leadership Convention in Toronto. Bono reportedly agreed to the interview with MuchMusic’s George Stroumboulopoulos because he was disappointed with the press coverage on his participation at the convention.

The show airs Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 6 pm, 9 pm, and midnight ET on MuchMusic and will be simulcast on Toronto’s CHUM FM at 9 pm ET. (Note: CHUM FM streams live audio at its web site.) A 90-second preview of the interview is available in RealVideo at MuchMusic’s web site.

Lead Singer’s Club

Duran Duran’s Simon LeBon reflects on his time recording their album “Thank You” the south of France:

“We were finishing ‘Thank You’ at Nick’s house in France, and I went to stay at [INXS lead singer] Michael Hutchence’s place nearby. Me and Michael and Bono were in this thing called the Lead Singers Club. For a couple of months in the summer of ’94 we lived it up in the south of France. Michael took drugs, but he had a good relationship with his girlfriend at the time. He certainly wasn’t suicidal or fucking up really badly. The club’s main meeting place was Nick’s swimming pool.”
