… but not the same. Kurt Nilsen represents Norway in the World Idol competition and he’s doing a bloody good job of it too, thanks very much. He picked ‘Beautiful Day’ for the finale, but has sung both ‘Stuck in a moment’ and ‘One’ in the local Norwegian competition. Here’s his interpretation of ‘One’. Cause it’s Christmas and we love you. I saw on another site where they are reporting the new album to be released June 14/15. They also said the album is going to be called “Solar” (old news). I hope the rumors of a March release are true and we get a new single in January. I sure was hoping to wake on my birthday today and find a new single posted on u2.com….what a Christmas present that would have been for all of us U2 junkies. Merry Christmas to all and much success to all in the New Year.

I have that same feeling. I think in the past they have leaked stuff to get a certain buzz going on their new stuff. I really think they are going to come out swinging with this one and it is just going to crush anything we have ever heard!

Just watched world idol, used the excuse that hey there’s u2 in there! hehe anyways kurt was the only one besides kelli clarkson that didn’t get any negative feedback, well besides his appearance but they were all saying that he might be like the dark horse and win it all which i’d like, the guy who did lithium by nirvana was damn good too.

Yes, Peter did a great job with his cover of Lithium by Nirvana.
He’s a big star in Belgium. He’s also one of those ppl who normally sings his own songs.

Hi, I think Kurt should win because Kelly is allready an internationale superstar, why not let the other get a chance. Kelly will sell albums all over the world anyway.. Besides, Kelly did get some negative feedback. And what’s wrong with looking like a hobbit? It’s not about the looks, it’s about the music, right?? Kurt “the Nowegian hobbit” rocks! (And we are damn proud of him =)

When I first heard Kurt sing Beautiful Day, I thought he sounded just like Bono. Then I went back and listened to Bono sing it. What a shocker that was! I’m not going to bash Bono, as I’m a huge fan, but if you have both versions, you should just listen to them back to back and see what you think.
