Bono and Adam at Corbijn’s birthday party

The Dutch newspaper ‘Haagse Courant‘ (reg.req) reports Bono and Adam attended Anton Corbijn’s 50th birthday party in The Hague on Sunday night. Bono sang Golden Earring’s ‘Radar Love’ for Corbijn. Check out Roeli’s blog for a translation of the article.

  • A Dutch radiostation claims that he was in Amsterdam as well to check out the ArenA, where U2 will play in july. A bit strange though, Bono checking the venue. You’d expect technicians and/or soundengineers to want to do that.

  • Let’s hope he has the bloody sense to tell them to open the roof… Otherwise, everything will just be repeated thrice and sound shit.

  • Maybe Bono didn’t want to be surprised, like last time in Arnhem when they were overwhelmed by the size of the damn place.

  • So that’s where the “Hello Amsterdam” came from last time in Arnhem, he thought he was in the wrong stadium, and now he wants to get it right….or he’s on a mission to check the Amstel Hotel and their room-service ahead of the rest of the band….or he just needed a place to stay in this little European town called Holland after the Corbijn-party…;-)
