Notes On Chicago Night 1

We’re told by our elite ground forces that Chris Martin watched last night’s Chicago show from inside the ellipse, and that many fans were seen getting their pictures taken with him. If you’ve got one, we’d love to see it (preferably one where you’re giving him bunny ears).

Also, our reporters say that they don’t think that the first night in Chicago was actually filmed — the cameras were present, but it looked more like a dry-run to stage the filming, and Bono reportedly wasn’t “on” in the way he would be if he were being immortalized. The next two nights are much more likely to comprise the backbone of any possible DVD release. (Other sources say the camera crew took the opportunity to film and interview fans for the DVD.)

Chicago is U2 town for a week

Going to Chicago, anybody? Be sure to wear your coolest threads, because yes, U2 will be filming their Vertigo Tour DVD in that toddling town. With four shows in six days, they should be able to get it right. Though we wouldn’t want to be Bono’s throat on the fourth night.

Remember, if you have a camera phone – drop us a line to get our very special e-mail address. Pictures sent to it appear in our Flickr account instantly, and here on our front page as well. Of course, regular pictures and your stories are welcome too.
