Leg II: Let’s get this party started

The band have arrived at the Koning Boudewijn stadium in Brussels and at U2log.com the European contingent of our team is gearing up to go see and report on our first shows this tour. You can help us. Got a camera phone or a (digital) camera? Do you know how to e-mail pictures from your phone? Can you moblog? Drop us a line and we’ll give you an e-mail address to send your pictures to. And if you see us on the road, come say hello. (I’m the quiet one.)

No wristbanding
U2.com says the ‘wristbanding system’ will not apply to the European concerts as there is ‘lots of room on the floor’. However the organisation will require as security the deeds of your house, of your aunt’s house, of your second cousin’s house, of your wife’s parents’ house, and of your grannie’s bungalow, and they will in addition need a controlling interest in your company, unrestricted access to your private bank account, the deposit in PM’s vaults of your three children as hostages and a full legal indemnity against any acts of embezzlement carried out against you by any members of U2 or their crew during the normal course of duty

Wednesday Rehearsals
On Wednesday afternoon after arriving at the stadium the band (without Bono, some say without Edge) rehearsed the following songs according to the U2achtung.com team:

Vertigo
Until The End Of The World
Out Of Control
Elevation
Beautiful Day
Love And Peace Or Else
Crumbs From Your Table (acoustic)

Around 9.15pm CET, the full band (with Bono) started playing again:

Vertigo – Elevation / Stories for boys – The Cry / The Electric Co / Butterfly snippet / I can see for miles – Beautiful Day – New Year’s Day (cut) / (talk by Bono) / New Year’s Day / (talk about light) – COBL (almost complete instrumental) – Miracle Drug (Bono talks about Belgian Chocolates) Sometimes / Love And Peace Or Else (intro only)

Around 11.15 the band left the stadium

  • After all these months getting frustrated in trying to get tickets (I still don’t have all I want!), paying off creditcard bills and just generally trying to get my head around everything, I now can say that I am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow! Can’t wait, can’t wait, yay, woohoo!

I’m not the quiet one :-]

  • What is “Butterfly” (snipet)? I understand it’s probably an unreleased song, but does anyone have an MP3 or link to it? Thanks!

Hope that helps.
