Someone you could lend a hand…
Silence has been reigning the last couple of weeks. Especially in the last few days, there seemed to be very little to say that seemed important enough to be mentioned. We have even received emails, clearly directed at the band, written by people expecting a statement of sorts from the band regarding the Katrina victims and troubles. U2, however, seemed to have disappeared of the face of the planet for a while, preparing for their second North American leg of their Vertigo tour.
Given all this, we were glad to hear that U2 have committed themselves to partake in the ‘Shelter from the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast’ telethon, airing today, September 9, on NBC. Aside from that, they will also perform on MTV’s ‘ReAct Now’ special to raise funds for relief organisations.
