Brrruuucccee!!

At the end of U2′s performance of “Beautiful Day” at their show tonight (Oct. 17) in Philadelphia, Bono included a snippet of Bruce Springsteen’s “Promised Land,” indicating a special surprise to come. Following an acoustic version of “Walk On” with just Bono and Edge on the main stage and a full-band performance of “Fast Cars,” Bruce Springsteen joined the band to perform “People Get Ready.” Springsteen, brandishing Bono’s Irish Falcon guitar, traded verses with Bono and guitar solos with the Edge. In the middle of the song, Bono coaxed Springsteen’s wife Patti Scialfa up on stage to take a verse of her own. At the conclusion of the song, Springsteen left the stage with Bono’s guitar in hand to an audience’s chorus of “Brrruuucccee!!”

  • Oh my God… I would have died, just DIED!! U2 and Bruce Springsteen have warred for first place in my heart for a long time now. There’s always rumors of them playing together, how amazing that it actually happened! And Patti’s a fantastic singer too. Lucky Philly!
