Bono 1/3rd Person of the Year

Time has selected its Person of the Year and it’s triplets: Bono, Melinda and Bill Gates.

The trio were chosen “for being shrewd about doing good, for rewiring politics and re-engineering justice, for making mercy smarter and hope strategic and then daring the rest of us to follow.”

  • No surprise here. Bono does a staggering amount of work behind the scenes, work that is often misunderstood and slighted, and reduced to a series of headlines, easily attacked by the cynics. If you take the time to go beyond the headlines, you will be staggered by what he is actually doing and has done.I’ve researched this recently, and am stunned at what he has done., and stunned at his eloquence in explaining these crises. Amazing. Kudos to you bono, and to you bill.

  • Back in April, there was an article in the Times that said Bono stayed at Bill’s home on Lake Washington during the Seattle shows (in April). Bill and Melinda were also at one of the shows. I wonder if Bill will make it to the Portland show tonight?
