Bono to crash into Dave Matthews set

An insider with the New Orleans Jazz Festival has shared with us that Bono is expected to join Dave Matthews during his band’s set at the festival this afternoon.

Consider it a rumor, but have your camera ready if you’re going to be there.

Update: The Edge, not Bono, joined the Dave Matthews Band during their set at the festival to perform “Smooth Rider.” Earlier in the afternoon, Edge joined the New Birth Brass Band for a performance of “Stand by Me.”

    One of U2log.com’s editors is on the scene. She just saw Dallas Schoo tech’ing a single guitar before the DMB set. So it looks like The Edge will be joining Dave Matthews on stage. And where there’s an Edge, there’s often a Bono.

    The Edge looks like a fish out of water. I guess Steve Lillywhite is the tie that binds those two bands together, and nothing else.

    Yes. Never in a million would I expect to see Mr. Edge playing with one of my least favorite bands ever. I don’t blame him for wanting to have a good time, though. He’s the man.
