hmm, seems like my guess concerning the lyrics for thank you were not that far off. I’m suprised this surfaces as part of U2 recorded material when in fact it’s a lanois song the man has been working on for his upcoming record. we’ll see what it becomes in the end..
the rest sounds very interesting, but def. unfinished imo. sounds like serious preparatory work for the next record…

I thought the “Thank You” song was the one Bono talked about on NBC Nightly News. Isn’t it different from the Lanois song?

My interest is tentative. Some of this stuff may never see the light of day, but some of this stuff may be cut and pasted into each other (i.e. Always and Beautiful Day). Some of this stuff may just need production and it will be on the next album. So, long story short, I’ll just wait (impatiently) for the finished product.

the “5th beachclip” posted there sounds EXACTLY like audio that is also on the strokes’ website. you can hear the strokes song by going to their site, (thestrokes.com) and choosing the “home video” section; then click on the video called “construction at new office.”

true. I’d say it is a strokes tune then…!?! seems like these eze clips are a partly misleading. I’m still not sure if these are rehearsals or demos played over a stereo, but no.5 def. sounds like a rehearsal. anyway, this is all wild guessing.

ryan, from the strokes’ management put a message on the strokes’ fan forum saying that the beach clip #5 is actually albert hammond jr. from the strokes playing a recording of his solo stuff for bono/u2. the strokes played two shows in france last week. bono is a fan. makes sense.
