World live premiere of U2′s “Breathe”
U2 played “Breathe” live for the first time on Le Grand Journal on Canal+ in France on Monday evening. The tallest Frenchman in the world followed Bono, singing his heart out, back onto the stage after a brief trip into the audience. (Get an mp3 of this song at U2exit.com)

- U2 Fan Survey 2012: Third Set of Results Available May 23, 2012The third set of results from the 2012 U2 Fan Survey is now available, and it takes us through your votes on U2's albums and songs. As a reminder, the survey was open from April 5th through April 30th. We received completed responses from 3,530 fans in 79 countries this year, both of which are down from 2010. We think that's likely due to the band […]
- A Look at My U2 Framed Album Cover Wall (PHOTOS) May 22, 2012How would you like to have a wall in your house covered with perfectly framed U2 album cover art? You could just have your favorite U2 albums on the wall or, like me, you could go all the way and put every U2 album on display in order — like this: That’s one of the [...]This is a post from the @U2 blog.A Look at My U2 Framed Album Cover Wall (PHOTOS) […]
- The Resource Miracle May 22, 2012[Note: This essay appeared in the May 28, 2012, edition of TIME magazine.] It's become the go-to cliché of modern economics. Natural resources are a "curse." When a nation is over-reliant on one or two commodities like oil or precious minerals, corrupt government ministers and their dodgy associates hoard profits and taxes instead of properly […]
- Bono Pays One More Tribute to Steve Jobs May 22, 2012Bono made an appearance via video tonight at the Webby Awards, contributing to a tribute to Steve Jobs. A host of tech legends and celebrities each paid tribute to Jobs in five words or less, a Webby Awards tradition. It looks like Bono’s contribution was recorded within the past week, but that’s just a guess. [...]This is a post from the @U2 blog.Bono Pays […]
- Billboard Music Awards: U2 Top Touring Artist May 21, 2012Gestern Abend wurden in der MGM Grand Garden Arena von Las Vegas die Billboard Music Awards 2012 verliehen. are you kidding me????
AWESOME, BEYOND AWESOME-
Yeah…100% pissed at Paul Mc or whomever though GOYB should be the first single-Good tumne, but just like Fast Cars wouldn’t have been the first release for Bomb. Should have been Miracle Drug or COBL, but that is behind us now…
The future of music just got it’s official kiss!!
If Breathe sounds like this, can you all imagine, NLOTH or magnificent…or even better, IGCIIDGCT!!

Maybe they fit in these promo gigs with Bono’s schedule instead of the other way around. Whichever country’s politician he needs to talk to gets the gig.

Wow can’t wait for the concert tour. Breathe was one of my favorites from the 45 scond clip but this song sounds even better live. This new CD played on great speakers is going to enhance this music no doubt. However, based on this performance and playing this music live will make it go into another dimension.

Wow – great versions of both songs. I can’t get over Adam’s dancing and jumping around from about the 3:00 minute mark onwards on Boots. I can’t remember seeing him that jazzed up during a song.

Anyone got a copy of this performance in FLAC format?

@Jono: I don’t know, GOYB seems to continue a U2 tradition of releasing the most … shall we say light-hearted rock song from the album as the first single… The Fly, Numb, Pop, Elevation, Vertigo, GOYB..
I look at that list and I see great, great tunes, and GOYB doesn’t seem out of place to me. To me the first single is the heart, the second single is the soul.
The performance of Breathe is *fantastic*. I’m still waiting for launch day to hear the new album, so this is my first exposure to Breathe and I am very, very excited.

@Orlando, thanks, but I’m fine with waiting for the official release. Besides, I don’t want my first listen of the new album to be tainted by the fact that I had to go to effing Myspace.com to do so. *shudder*

After, hearing bits and pieces of U-2′s new album, no line on the horizon, the prophetic song writing vein is continuing to live on….in the heart of Bono. There’s more to this group that meeta the eye. Call it an element of divine intervention coming upon the heart of man in the form of a song, and call it U-2….Keep it boys! Let’s continue to give the future “A Big Kiss”.

Wow! BREATHE …my first full hearing of anything else off the album except for 60 second clips on the Irish Times website. Sounds rawer than anything off the last 2 albums. Uncut Mag in their review say it’s their least immediate album but possibly their most enduring. They sound like a younger band here. It’s fresh. That guitar groove reminds me of them live at the Hammersmith Palais circa 1983!

Don’t forget, Canal+ sucks major asses… That’s why GOYB is not available anymore. Well at least on youtube… which sucks as well.
I don’t know if U2 are aware of this but if someone has rights on these songs it’s them, not Canal+

i love seeing bono so cocksure of himself you can tell the whole band has a ton of confidence this go around.
“PLEASE”!

I reckon “Breathe” will get even better once they’re on the road. Likewise the start of “Boots” live is already in tour mode

I love this song, it’s the best song REM never wrote. Larry and Adam’s rhythm washes over you like waves on a beach, brilliantly done.
