    David Comay Says:

Thanks for posting them, Caroline. What a crazy situation.

  2. 2
    Ternerito Says:

So indeed 20 (possibly 21 and 22) july in Amsterdam.

Why??? Why can’t they go to a decent stadium like De Kuip in Rotterdam. Yet again a rotten sound :(

  3. 3
    Ingrid Says:

CRAP! Where’s Miami??????????? I’ll be seeing them out on the West Coast and if possible Tampa. But, I’m kinda shocked about Miami. Guess they figure that’s smack dab in the middle of the state?

U2.com flat lined…kinda ticked off here! You pay a membership fee and then can’t even log on? They picked a hell of time to relaunch!

Anyhoooooo…thanks to u2log I never even have to bother logging in over there. I panicked and never even thought about U2tours.com. On with the show…this is it!

  4. 4
    Caroline Says:

Very few sites can handle that kind of traffic all at once.

  5. 5
    stlmurph Says:

The gaps between dates will allow for multiple shows in certain cities. After all, they arent going to play just one night in Chicago! : > What I haven’t wrapped my mind around is why the sprinkling of college towns: Norman, OK; Charlottesville, VA? Then again is 3:30 in the morning. Maybe after some coffee…..

I also think its smart that they are only putting tickets for four gigs at a time on sale. Hopefully Livenation can handle it!

  6. 6
    Jack Says:

Well Ingrid I’m sure some people are going to be scratching their heads about some of the dates but maybe Miami wasn’t available logistically speaking around the time they wanted it…..I mean where’s Philly? they’ve always had a great fan base there but since this tour is designed to be in football stadiums only maybe it conflicted with a football game around he same time….they will be back next summer and they will have a new album “Songs of Ascent” (which I’m sure they will be completing in Nov and Dec.) so I’m sure they will hit every city they missed the first time around

Anyone got their presale email yet? I have my code from the u2.com website, but haven’t received any email yet …

  9. 9
    stannyboy Says:

no email for me yet …………. looks good looks like they have got it absolutely spot on with this tip top

  10. 10
    gg Says:

where can i get the tickets for Europe, if You could tell me, please? i need presale email? Thanks a lot

Love the US angle on this…

“why aren’t they playing in my backyard. It’s not faaaaaaaaiiirrrrr”

    Flygirl Says:

    @Ternerito:
I read somewhere that Rotterdam’s Kuip Stadium has been found unfit to host rockconcerts any longer. The state of the stands is quite bad (they’re really old), even for a soccermatch and could prove to be dangerous if 30.000 people start hopping up and down on them under the influence of quite some decibels of sound. Sad but true.

    garyuk Says:

Europe presale allows 4 tickets for 1 show only yet in teh USA they get to split up their tickects up to over 4 shows………. nothing like fairness

  15. 15
    garyuk Says:

And London is not in the US lol

  16. 16
    iChris Says:

Once again they hit Van. and Toronto and skip the rest of Canada. Hopefully they’ll stop at a few more places next year. Not sure why it made sense on Popmart to stop at more places but hasn’t since?

  17. 17
    eva Says:

There’s a lot of gaps in the schedule for adding dates. Big gap between Barcelona and Milan. Paris will probably have a show added. Amsterdam could extend to 3 in a row like last time. Dublin can extend up to 2 as well, if Dublin council goes along with it. Those were the absolute highlight last time.

Call me grouchy, but the presale FAQ kind of puts me of the whole thing, I’m not even sure I understand it.

I wonder if the EUR150 price tag on the Live Nation site comes with a glass of hard liquor or not, because I sure as hell will need it to get over that shock. :-P

  18. 18
    Caroline Says:

The 150 euro tickets are probably ‘eretribune’. It’s the 30 and 60 Euro ones we want. Those are supposed to be field & closest to the stage. That’s if what Fogel said about the USA leg counts for Europe too.

  19. 19
    ben Says:

as an arachnophobe i’m not sure i can cope standing under a spider.

  20. 20
    eva Says:

My bets are on the EUR150 ones being the first enclosure one. Kind of like they did in Belgium this year.

  21. 21
    eva Says:

Eh, last year = last time.

85% of the tickets are under EUR95, which means 15% is @ EUR150. I’m not sure how the ArenA’s capacity improveswith this new stage setup, but assuming it’ll be around 60k (I think it’s more), 9000 tickets will be at EUR150.

  22. 22
    Caroline Says:

The stage design doesn’t appeal to me at all. It looks like graphics for a shoot-em-up, or some kind of biohazard http://www.biohazard-movie.com/forums/images/logo/Biohazard_Logo.JPG

  23. 23
    eva Says:

Now don’t be grouchy. Edge will chase you and slap you around a bit with a wet trout! ;)

I think the stage looks like an oversized replicator from Stargate SG-1 :-P

So what’s BlackBerry’s role in all this?

  24. 24
    Shakes Says:

anyone else notice that the tour is sponsored by Blackberry? not that i have any issue with it but i know they had resisted corp sponsorship in the past…but more importantly i wonder how much that deal is worth to potentially keep ticket prices lower (or just give more profit to Live Nation)

  25. 25
    Caroline Says:

Well, I’m definitely not paying 150. Not for each of the six to eight show I want to see, anyway.

  26. 26
    eva Says:

Im guessing the lower ticket price is a lot to do with the stage setup. It gains all the seats that are usually behind the stage.

I’m restricting my intake to Amsterdam only, if I manage to get tickets to FreakNation. I don’t want to sign up to U2.com at all, and frankly, with their current presale structure, I don’t see the benefit to it.

I really hate how ticket sales have gone internet only. Whatever was wrong with queuing all night? I’m good at it, dammit (lotta practice).

Sounds like a great opportunity to practice my social engineering skills at the backgate ;)

  27. 27
    Caroline Says:

    Social engineering?

If batting my eyes at someone counts, I’ll do some of that.

I think it’s too late for signing up to u2.com anyway. Pre-sale codes have already been sent out.

  28. 28
    eva Says:

I think you have to be tall, blonde, with huge knockers for that :-P

    Let’s bring flygirl!

  29. 29
    Caroline Says:

    I have a cunning plan.

  30. 30
    eva Says:

    Implants & high heels?

  31. 31
    ben Says:

    i’m NOT getting implants

  32. 32
    eva Says:

Bet you look pretty in high heels though

  33. 33
    womanfish Says:

Hi, can anyone tell me what’s up with paying 150 Euro’s for standing at the front area?? Love the guys but:
It’s not that punk rock to make a high price, three chords and a big whallet you need now !

  34. 34
    RJ Says:

Here is a seating plan for the Amsterdam Arena.

This file is hosted on livenation.com so it seems like the real thing..

    http://static2.livenation.com/akamai/V0100/img/VENUE_MAP_L/17820_56825_1.jpg

Wonder how one will get into the area around the stage.

  35. 35
    RJ Says:

Hm never mind my last post, it already seems outdated…

    http://www.livenation.nl/event/getEvent/eventId/341280

    € 55 for general admission..

  36. 36
    Gogme Says:

So, what’s the prize for the lightblue seats? Oh and for all Euro countries, just go to the London gig, the exchange rate on the pound is quite good these days…

  37. 37
    Caroline Says:

55 euro for pitch access is fab.

  38. 38
    eva Says:

Okay, I’m taking all that back. EUR55 is the cheapest for any stadium concert I’ve been to in ages! Rock on! I’m buying! Sod the credit crunch! *flips the finger*

    Excellent!

  39. 39
    RJ Says:

It’s € 55 but without “service”(ahem!)fees… wonder how much that will be.

I’m guessing there will be a lottery to get in the aera around the stage, just like last tour in North America?

  40. 40
    eva Says:

No idea about ticket changes. Now my next worry is actually getting them… Camping out all night is no longer an option. I fear many crashing servers. But fingers crossed!

Now all I need to do is collect all my friend’s creditcards :-]

  41. 41
    RJ Says:

Yup, i’m guessing the online ticket sale this saturday will be a bloody mess. Not looking forward to that.

But I already got my presale code, so i’m hoping i’ll be ok.
I’m in the Breathe group (only joined a couple of weeks ago, so that’s nice), i’m hoping there will be general admission tickets left when it’s my turn…

    * crosses fingers *

  42. 42
    Flygirl Says:

Eva, beeeehave! Being tall is a disadvantage with this band! Ánd I was a brunette then, check the pictures. As for the knockers… let’s not go there shall we, or I’ll start asking for yóur measurements ;)

  43. 43
    Gogme Says:

O and the stage in the Amsterdam ArenA is situated at the southside of the stadium! I’ve never seen that before! Normally it’s at the other end!

  44. 44
    paul Says:

as a longtime member, i suppose i can get tixs whenever i want. horizon here baby.

  45. 45
    brian Says:

Glad to see the New Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Arlington on the schedule…however, it’s in Arlington Texas NOT Dallas, TC…

  46. 46
    jeff Says:

why did u2.com pull the rest of the dates? is the arlington date not confirmed?

  47. 47

  48. 48
    Flygirl Says:

As far as I can see (http://static2.livenation.com/akamai/V0100/img/VENUE_MAP_L/17820_56825_1.jpg), GA tickets will be €85! The cheaper tickets y’all were referring to are the ‘nosebleeds’ way up in the stands, the most expensive ones are also in the stands, but closer to the stage. Bloody eightyfive euros, that’s…not…fiftyfive. :S

  49. 49
    Caroline Says:

No, that image is outdated. The new pricing is on the live site:

    * Zitplaats PL1 (exclusief servicekosten): €150.00
    * Veldplaats PL2 (exclusief servicekosten): €55.00
    * Zitplaats PL3 (exclusief servicekosten): €80.00
    * Zitplaats PL4 (exclusief servicekosten): €75.00
    * Zitplaats PL5 (exclusief servicekosten): €65.00
    * Zitplaats PL6 (exclusief servicekosten): €30.00

  50. 50
    eva Says:

This is the first time I’ve ever seen GA tickets cheaper than any seat in the house (excepting the VIP packages).

Very confusing how they keep adding and removing dates. I’ve still seen Gelsenkirchen’s date mentioned on eventim, Hannover on August 4, Austrian paper saying it was planned for August 7 or 8 but having their stadium booked and Belgium claiming July 28 may still be on the cards.

    It’s all very confusing.

  51. 51
    Caroline Says:

I got 4 GA tickets for Amsterdam. YAY!

  52. 52
    eva Says:

    cvodb FTW!

  53. 53
    Caroline Says:

I have to say, props to Livenation’s hosting co / sysops, for a painless experience.

  54. 54
    Ternerito Says:

I’ve ordered my 4 tickets GA for Amsterdam. Indeed 55,00 per ticket, excluding those ridiculous fee’s of 5,50 per ticket.

Ordering went very simple and fast. Well done to U2 for this one!

  55. 55
    U2Roeli Says:

Who would’ve thought a presale working out this smooth (so far…)!!!
Wondering how many Dutch horizon fans there are in total…and what kinds of tickets will be available the next couple of days.

See y’all in Amsterdam 20th of july!

**keeps fingers crossed for friends and all who have to count on saturday**

  56. 56
    eva Says:

Everything is moving so fast, I barely even have time to sign up to u2.com (never noticed my subscription expired, ha!).

Come to think of it, that’s probably a good thing ;)

My guess is that Dublin tickets will become the best “trading material”, so maybe it’s still worth signing up.

LiveNation sounds more with it than the previous Ticketmaster experiences. I wonder what Saturday will bring. My bet is at least 1 more Amsterdam concert!

  57. 57
    RJ Says:

Glad things seem to running smoothly with the presale..

“and what kinds of tickets will be available the next couple of days.”

There’d better be some GA tickets left for me tomorrow… :(

My co-workers will be glad when this week is over.. i’ve been a nervous wreck the whole week.

  58. 58
    Marcel Says:

    Presale started 9:58AM CET

my conformationmail stated 9:59, got my 4 GA tickets :cheer:

Already wondering if this will work as smooth on Saturday

  59. 59
    Flygirl Says:

@Eva: I believe it’s not still worth signing up, if you didn’t renew your subscription 2 days ago, you will not become a ‘Horizon-subscriber’ and will not have access to the first pre-sale (= GA-tickets). At least, I think that’s the deal, the info is on U2.com. Otherwise, anybody can sign up at the last minute and get the good stuff, I think is their point…

  60. 60
    Gogme Says:

    Guys!
If you are trying to get seating tickets for Amsterdam, beware that the image on LiveNation has the stage at the southside of the ArenA, normally the stage is at the other end. It would suprise me if LiveNation discoveres this and change the whole setting and move the stage to the other end. In that case you can end up behind the stage… I’ve contacted LiveNation about this, but still no answer.

  61. 61
    Gogme Says:

I’ve received word from Live Nation! The seating chart on their (and U2’s) site is incorrect! The stage will be situated at the other side of the stadium!

  62. 62
    Kris Says:

Hmmm, it would be nice if they updated their seating chart if what you are saying is true. I really need to buy the blue ‘behind the stage’ tickets tomorrow morning. Now I’m confused… Can you check your seats before you pay?

  63. 63
    Gogme Says:

the stage will be at the northside of the stadium. Sections 112 to 115 are the ones right behind the stage!

  64. 64
    Kris Says:

Thanks your info is correct. I checked http://www.amsterdamarena.nl/evenementen/waar_zit_ik and pulled up several options before I bought 4x section 119 and a friend bought 4x GA. Easily. Compliments to all involved in the organization! Even if you are in the ‘Boots’ presale you can buy every option including GA.

  65. 65
    Gogme Says:

    Gogme Says:

Here’s a seating chart WITH section numbers: http://gogme.nl/u2360_amsterdamarena.jpg

  67. 67
    Kevin Botting Says:

    Hi Everyone,
For those that have bought pre sale tickets, could you just clarify where in the stadium the different price tickets are.
Assume standing is all one price, is it cheaper than the cheapest seats. Are the cheapest seats behind the stage, and far goal or are they the upper seats.
despite what they are saying seems these upper seats may have obscured view.
Where are top priced seats, both sides lower tier adjacent to stage ?

  68. 68
    eva Says:

My friend just got offered 2 EUR150 tickets in section 121 @EUR150, since that’s where her Ajax season’s tickets are. $$

Thanks for finding out all the info. I’m thinking the blue behind-the-stage section is the best seating option, even if the pricing chart doesn’t reveal that.

I wonder what the speaker setup and placing of the stage is going to do for the sound in the Arena.

  69. 69
    eva Says:

    @Kevin,

In general you mean, or at the ArenA? I suspect the pricing scheme will be different for each stadium, since they’re all so different.

For Arena, the upper far ends of the ring (second tier, goal end) are the cheapest tickets. They’re the only seats that are cheaper than GA. I don’t think they’ll be restricted view, as there’s no pillars or anything in the stadium itself, you’re just up with the gods on second tier :-]

  70. 70
    pete Says:

well, it looks like the best seats might be going to the richest people after all…
    http://www.ticketmaster.nl/adm/nl/U2_AUCTION_RED.html

  71. 71
    Kevin Botting Says:

Thanks everyone, the link to the colour coded map gives a good overal idea of pricing policy.
Red area auction is just for right and left of stage, should still be usual front enclosure for early birds

  72. 72
    Steve Says:

i sure hope U2 come to Philadelphia,PA on this tour. it would save me a trip to Giants Stadium

  73. 73
    Charlieray Says:

I have 2 tickets in 122 and 2 in 112, The closer tickets were cheaper! Even though it is behind the stage, where would you sit?

  74. 74
    Rich Wolensky Says:

Why no dates in Philadelphia, PA????I have seen them 5 times there!!!

  75. 75
    Rich Wolensky Says:

    Please come to philadelphia, PA!!!!!!!!!!!

  76. 76
    Craig Says:

Hey guys…..do u know if theres any more 33 euro tickets left for the Dublin Concerts.

  77. 77
    joshua Says:

why are the u2 tickets not aapearing for the dublin sale

  78. 78
    eva Says:

No Ticketmaster love for me =\

Ive been thrown out 3 times already, after being in the queue. >:(
