Shadow Play: The Making of Anton Corbijn

“Choosing the kind of lie you want to tell is actually the creative art of photography. And there are few better and more interesting liars than Anton.” – Brian Eno

Bono, Michael Stipe, Brandon Flowers, Gavin Friday, Guggi, Dave Gahan and others tell the story of Anton Corbijn, “the ultimate insider who now finds himself outside the Hollywood system” in Shadow Play: The Making of Anton Corbijn, a documentary by Josh Whiteman now making the rounds on the festival circuit.

Anton Corbijn is currently working on his second feature film, a thrilller starring George Clooney based on the novel A Very Private Gentleman. He is also making a new photo/lyrics book with Tom Waits.

U2 to participate in “Moving Stars and Earth for Water” event

According to this press release U2 are set to appear during Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté’s Poetic Social Mission “Moving Stars and Earth for Water”.

Guy Laliberté, a friend of the band who has been mentioned during several recent shows, is currently preparing for a trip to the ISS space station.
Part of his undertaking is a socalled poetic social mission themed “Moving Stars and Earth for Water” which will take place on October 9, 2009 from “14 cities on five continents… and space”.

Although U2 are not to be found in the participant list, the “mission scenario” tells us Guy will have a “space-to-earth conversation with a close friend” in Tampa, where “They will discuss the uniqueness and beauty of the Earth in the solar system.”

Now guess who’s in Tampa on October 9…

The entire event will be webcast through the website of Guy Laliberté’s “One Drop” foundation. Expect more details to surface soon.
