Turin welcomes the hatted one

A delegation of follicly challenged fans welcomes The Edge to Turin. (photo via U2place.com)

Lighting tests (pictures on Facebook) were conducted inside the stadium, but the band are said to be holed up indoors while they rehearse. They are expected to play new material ( two or three new songs) on the tour and perhaps are looking to keep their efforts under wraps.

  • I was sceptic about new songs being played during these legs of the tour but must admit the reports of the last few days, and the repeat announcement in the latest video-message are promising.

But don’t forget they might also be rehearsing some old tunes or never before played NLOTH songs that may-or-may-not end up in the show.
Somehow I still can’t imagine them premiering a new song during a fully choreographed stadium show, even though they have done this before and have also played the odd ‘obscure’ song recently (Your blue room) and during the Vertigo tour (Miss Sarajevo).

Fingers crossed for some new tunes or old gems in the upcoming shows, even if that means half the stadium going for a beer or taking a leak…

  • BTW priceless look in Edge’s eyes…..like a fully clothed man realizing he’s arrived on a naturist camp….

  • That’s just too funny. It’s like Edge is the leader of the Bald People and is being greeted by his subjects.
