During an unprecedented live web broadcast of the U2360 Rosebowl show in Pasadena CA, U2 & Live Nation have ‘adapted to the new media’ even more by announcing new 2010 US dates for the U2360 tour via Twitter. This (third?) leg of the tour will kick off in Anaheim on june 6th and will take the band back to places around the US and Canada.

For those of you who missed out on the webcast, a rebroadcast is running now (only to be seen in its entirety as it seems).

Willie’s Surveillance Cam

Willie Williams has put some ‘surveillance’ videos online, which he shot during the Vertigo Tour using remotely controlled infra-red cameras. Says he: “The performers were unaware that they were being filmed.” Check them out on YouTube. Hamish, eat your heart out. Seriously.

Performance in the skies

tvasahi.jpg

Friday night U2 performed two songs, “Vertigo” and “Window in the Skies,” on the rooftop of TV Asahi in Roppongi, a posh area of Tokyo. The performance was aired live on the Japanese television show “Music Station.”

Hundreds of U2 fans gathered outside the studio in hopes of hearing the performance, but were disappointed to hear little over the traffic noise on the streets and the helicopters that were filming the performance. Only Larry’s intro to “Vertigo” could be heard faintly.

These videos will likely be removed on YouTube by TV Asahi, so watch them while you can.
