From U2.com today: It was announced at a press conference in Germany today that the new U2 single “Beautiful Day” will be the official song used by ZDF, Germany`s public service broadcaster, for their coverage of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Ve haf vays and means to make you zing.

U2.com sent out an e-mail to its registered users today, stating:

Dear U2 Fan,
We’re in Dublin finishing the new album. It will be released at the end of October. In the meantime, keep your eye on the Green Room you may be the first to hear music from the new album.
