GO SUCK A LEMON
Last week we quietly wondered which publication would be the first to give All That You Can’t Leave Behind a tongue lashing given all the sparkling reviews floating about. Surely The Village Voice wouldn’t let us down? Wrong. It liked it too. The review compares U2’s and PJ Harvey’s latest in the light (the dark?) of Radiohead’s Kid A. “I find all my sympathies with the residue of pop aspiration Bono so righteously titled All That Can’t Be Left Behind. It’ll be interesting to see how many others do too, whether today’s collective lemon sucking passes at the first hint of sweeter fruits.”
