We have a tiny snippet of Real Video from Dutch television, of Bono meeting the Russian President Putin and British PM Blair in Genoa, with Bob Geldof. Commentary is in Dutch and they misquote Bono. We prefer to give you what he said: ‘It’s okay banging your fist on the table. It’s not okay to put your fist in the face of an opponent, whether they are protesters or police. [ … ] I don’t think violence is ever right, but anger is understandable when facing the obscenity of the ever widening gap of inequality on the planet between the haves and the have nots.’
