WTF WWF?

Two readers pointed out to us that U2 are in league with the WWF. On the ‘Vengeance Pay-Per-View’ on Sunday December 9th, the WWF was apparently using U2’s “Beautiful Day” as the song for a music video montage/promo for the return of one of their top wrestlers, Triple H. We’d have a snooty comment on this, but we’re wrestling with our concience.

From an anonymous reader: In compliance with American music laws, television programs need not the consent of the songwriter or performer to use a song on a tv program. They need only pay a compulsory licensing fee to the publisher of the composition and/or copyright holder of the pertinent sound recording. (feel free to sign your e-mail to us, we like names!)
