The American Music Awards were last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Sorry to report U2 did not win any awards (well, any awards about making music). Maybe the loss at the AMA is due in fact that the lads aren’t American or maybe it’s because of N’Sync…

…winning over U2 (and the Dave Matthews Band) for the Favorite Pop Group award.

While accepting the award for his group, Justin Timberlake of N’Sync did have this to say when some of the audience members vocalized their disdain for the outcome:

“Quit booing. U2’s going to get Grammys.”

With U2 up for eight Grammys after taking home three last year for the song Beautiful Day, Timberlake makes the safe bet.
