The ‘Rock in Rio’ festival seem pretty confident they’ve got U2 on their bill for the next edition in 2003. According to the festival’s organiser, Roberto Medina, “U2 wants to come, they feel indebted to Brasilian fans.” Medina said this talking to Brasilian newspaper O Globo.

Apparently, the band had a look at the festival grounds from a helicopter and were were impressed by the size of this “City of Rock”, which was constructed by Medina for the 1st and 3rd edition of the festival.

Please note that it doesn’t state anywhere in the article U2 have confirmed their appearance at this festival – even if the organisers claim ‘we can count on it’.
