According to @U2, U2 will, in fact, be on the forthcoming all-star Ramones tribute album organized by Rob Zombie. Their source? Zombie himself, in a Seattle Times interview…

“It’s almost finished. Me, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Offspring, Motorhead, Joe Strummer, Eddie Vedder, we’ve all finished our songs. You have to do them in your own style. The originals are already perfect so you sort of have to go in there and (expletive) it up or it’s kinda pointless.”

As for what song U2 perform on the disc, that’s still unknown, though the easy money is on “I Remember You.” Of course, it could come from left field — we did all hear about their recording of “Beat On The Brat” in honor of this year’s N.M.E. Awards, right…?
