Buck Walks Unafraid

Uncork that bottle of bubbly. It seems that Bono’s testimonial for fellow musician Peter Buck has had its intended effect. BBC Liquid News’ mailing list reports Buck has been cleared of all charges against him. He had been accused of being drunk on board, assaulting cabin staff and damaging BA property. 1. he was probably “guilty” of whatever they charged him of, but my guess is the jury figured he had suffered enough. The whole thing was simply surreal.

  3. Peter Buck getting off on this charge is a farce.

IMHO he should have been havily fined (say 100,000UKP) and or imprisoned.

A couple of years ago a UK singer Ian Brown (former LV of the Stone Roses) was on a transatlantic aeroplane flight and (cold sober) had a bit of a joke with the stearwardess and made a comment such as “if you do that, i’ll chop your hands off” – she obvioulsy didn’t get the joke, he was in court for ‘air rage’ and got a 1 month prison sentance (!!!!) in a rather nasty Manchester prison.

Yer REM man gets smashed, destrys BA property, has to be stopped from opening the emergency door (!!!!!) and gets of free. Unbelieveable!
