Willie remembers

U2.com have updated their story on Pimm Jal with some reflections from Willie Williams: ‘He was always pleasant & grateful but never inclined to take advantage of how much U2 were in awe of his information archive.’

  1. That’s beautiful… I especially like the bit where Willy says: “‘I finally met him during the Elevation tour when we had a chat outside the venue one day. I invited him in to join us for dinner but he politely declined as he was with friends in line waiting to get into the heart. I felt quietly humbled!”. It brings back great memories of PJ fluttering around like a butterfly from people he knew, to people who knew him and their friends. That whole laid back air around him, hanging around, waiting around, blazing sun, and most of all sun. That’s a memory that will stick… and a moment, that surely will come again but will never quite be the same again. It’s nice to see the band & co acknowledge PJ as a person as well as his incredible work.
