I have always wondered what Bono sings in the
studio version of One, towards the end of the
song. It sounds a bit like “Beg Me” or “Bacon”
(Larry is the vegeterian, Bono is *not* ;-).
This part of the lyrics is not listed the
Achtung Baby sleeve lyrics. Any ideas ?

I used to think it was “baby, baby” but then I started to doubt that. I definitely don’t think he is singing “heart”, “hurt”, “higher” or anything like that at the end… I think he is just wailing and it sounds great. ;o)

As in “making it work in any relationship is hard”. I know I read it somewhere, just can’t remember where. Might’ve been in a Bill Graham album review.

I often misheard lyrics (my mother tongue is german). But some of the listed one’s were not hard to understand for me… By now, I know the lyrics of songs by heart even before I keep the tune. (Thank god that there are things like the internet!!!)
