  5. the clip either does the song no justice, or the song is dull. Sounds like a good backing song to a movie (which is maybe all that is intended for it), but it’s not going to get a lot of people excited.

  9. I think that it will be great, its like when the clip for beautiful day came out, a lot of people were skeptical and it turned into such a great song, i think the same will be here, its a new sound and it will be great

  11. The music sounds superb. The lyrics sound miserable. “Watercolor sky,” Bono? “Watercolor sky”? Good lord. And I won’t even talk about how irritating it is to hear the word “America” sung soulfully…

  13. Josh, “Velvet Dress” is a beautiful U2 tune, “Bad” and “Stay” are beautiful U2 tunes, and overplayed as it is, “One” is a beautiful U2 tune. But “Grace,” it’s a nice idea, but it’s a terrible song. Don’t get me wrong, the Boys really can do no wrong. But the last third of ATYCLB comes close.

  27. I think this song is damn good. Sounds like a trippy slow song. Almost like Velvet Dress. I’m excited. And by the way, ‘Grace’ was a damn good closing song.

  29. It’s nice to have Edge on the piano again, he doesn’t get there enough. Bono sounds good on the acoustic guitar, his playing has definately improved over the last decade.
    My favorite part of this song is when Larry kicks in on the drums. He’s using some brushes from what I saw. He’s amazing.
    I even like the kooky Ice-Cream truck sound effects in the background. A very promising clip.

  33. now that i have the mp3 i am doing what i did when the gbh clip fromt he trailer came out, and the atyclb clips got released, i’m listening to it repeatedly, meaning thats all is in my winamp playlist right now, and i like it even more then i said before! it sounds amazing now, i can’t wait to see whats going on before and after these 30 secs, so anyways, as my mom and i say whenever U2 is mentioned WHOO WHOO WHOO WHOO (one whoo for each member 😉 ) ok so PEACE LOVE LEMONS

  55. u2 take their music to a different level, a level which involves the listener to have a wide open mind and a good taste in music. I think grace is one of u2’s best songs and The Hands that Built America sounds like its going to be another great song by u2.

Saying they’re going downhill is flat out stupid. I want to hear peoples reactions when new material comes out. I bet this negative B.S will be silenced. By the way, I heard the new single, “Electrical Storm.” Very good song.

Bono really puts feeling into singing it and I think it’s the best song they’ve ever done bar none, but thats my opinion. All of you might have others you like more but this one is awesome! It’s actually a very patriotic song, but it not like other patriotic songs out there. I think it was actually inspired after 9/11 because there’s a reference to it at the end of the song. I love it and you will too!

I love “The Hands That Built America”.Bono always sings with such passion and emotion in his voice,and I think its quality and power really shine through on this track, a lot it does on their new single, Electrical Storm. Ok,as for the others, I agree that Grace and New York aren’t the songs of U2’s that I put on repeat very much because those songs don’t have quite the same sound as their others, but all you have to do is listen to the their lyrics, or the lyrics of any song written by Bono for that matter. He is an amazing poet and I could never get enough of his words.
