U2tour.de have information about U2’s ‘Best of’ compilation release. It appears to be planned for November 11, there should be a double CD (with B-sides), and perhaps a bonus DVD. The band is finalising the new tracks this week. Whether the “Gangs of New York” tune will be on the compilation is as yet unknown.

A.S.A.P.U-2 (As Soon As Possible U-2).
I’m teaming up with other groups like N.O.W.,H.U.R-E-U.P. and U.P.S. to try and get listening aid to U-2 fans across the world. My next stop is to visit with PolyGram Record’s CEO to put the pressure on U-2 to produce some practical solutions and take action on this immediate musical crisis! Thanks…don’t all throw money at me at once.

ya, I know you all like U2 and everything, and I do too. But isn’t it a little to early to release a best of? They waited 18 years after their first album in the 80’s to release the 80’s best of. I think the new best of should wait at least till 2008. And they difinately shouldn’t have the 2000 there, it should only be to 1999.

I don’t know, I think it is about time, considering how they’re doing best of albums for periods of about a decade… it only makes sense to get the second decade out.
Perhaps I’m just greedy, but I’d like that darned Best Of 1990-2000 (or whatever it is) as soon as possible.
