  25. My vote for ‘worst of’ goes to the last half of Unforgettable Fire. I really hope they give ‘POP’ some serious play on the ‘Best Of’ album. I don’t care what anyone says, it may not be better than ‘Achtung Baby’ (not much is) but it IS a damn good record and the single mix versions of those songs are really powerful (Last Night on Earth, Please, etc.,)

  29. Worst of= Angel of Harlem, Grace, all the 80’s intrumentals, 4th of July, Electric Co. and almost every song on the october album. BTW, Pop is the best U2 CD ever, that and Passengers, don’t get the respect that they truely deserve.

  37. The Unforgettable Fire was U2’s “Pop” of the 80’s in my opinion. It was the apex of their experimentation/augmentation of sounds and recording techniques. 4th of July is one badass piece of music. I highly suggest playing it on your car stereo while looking up at the moon. Mindblowing.

  39. Worst of?!? wow in my catlogue i have one fav (one) and the rest are my second faves hehe, if i don’t agree with a song at first i listen to it repeatedly until it grows on me, U2 is the only band where that works for me!

  43. Come on, greg. Yes U2 IS the best band on the planet. No doubt about that. But you can also learn from them something about freedom of opinion and speech! When you make a list of the best U2 songs, there simply have to be a few songs that are somewhat lower in the ranking…….., even if they are still very good. Tolerance my friend!

    I mean, which is worse, putting out an album that few liked (Pop) but you loved & still made boatloads of $, or putting out an album the fans liked and you liked (JT/ATYCLB, etc) and you made boatloads of $?

  65. Thanks to everyone who has a SENSE OF HUMOUR AND FUN for your Worst Of suggestions. The other lot of you just remember the band themselves actually think some of their work is awful! But to be fair, I’d say 95% of U2’s music is uplifting, powerful, pure class.
