No Slane DVD

Hot Press is reporting that there isn’t any plans to release the Slane concert on DVD, it will just be shown on a tv (hopefully) near you.

  7. Well im sure that someone could record it off digital satellite TV on to a PC and then transfer it onto DVD and then sell it on to us. I would call this scheme bootlegging!!

  11. I think it was obvious after they released the ‘official’ live Elevation DVD that we wouldn’t get another.
    I mean, what should we expect for supporting the band by buying their albums, singles, videos ,DVDs, Best of’s, posters, concert tickets, concert programmes, bootlegs, not to mention queuing for hours for tickets, joining their fanclub, buying the books, tour merchandise etc…
    Us fans don’t deserve another DVD do we?
    Now if it was promoting a film soundtrack then maybe…
    It’s time for the bootleggers to line their pockets again and who can blame them when the band for some reason hold back on releasing their live performances?
    This band is all about the live experience of seeing U2 and that’s where they shine – that’s the REAL U2.
    For the first time (don’t mean to plagiarise) the band,their management and their promotional bagheads are getting on my t*ts!

  13. If we never get the Slane DVD, it will be a sad thing, but it will not be the END OF THE WORLD! Please do not dramatize this trivial thing. I want to own the Slane DVD just like any other fan, but I am not going to get upset at everyone because I don’t. Besides, just because they don’t have plans to release the show YET, doesn’t mean they never will! It will probably be like the Pop-mart thing. They aired the show on Cable, and then later, they released the VHS. At the time of airing it, they didn’t have plans to release a VHS, BUT THEY DID! So lets just wait, and if it doesn’t happen, life WILL GO ON! We can’t really expect the release since they already release a live show from this tour. They have never released 2 live shows for one tour before…

  17. Um, won’t we have enough U2 to buy this Fall already? I mean 2 singles (at least) of Electric Storm, the Best Of Set, the Best of Videos DVD, the Ramones tribute thing. Buy a blank tape. 🙂

  19. Jasus lads- for Feck sake would ya release the feckin Slane dvd. Yiss are the dog`s gonads live and only do yerself justice in a live gig. De way Bono flirts with the ladies and a few of the boyzz too (that’s why he wears dem glasses cause he doesn’t want you to see where his eyes are lookin !). – Whereas that Daniel O’Donnell chap coudln’t give a flyin puff how obvious he makes it that he’s checkin out de boyzz aswell as the men! Come on Bono wise up and do it for de fans – you can’t have your crack cocaine and eat it !

Many’s the hour I spend surfing the net, looking at this and that, well at least until the local gardai came and seized my PC anyway. I agree with the last young lad who says u can’t beat a live gig. Many’s the folk that come from afar to see me in concert, some of them even come from over the water – and I don’t mean the Liffey, or the puddles in the road..hahaha. Ah no now seriously God bless them, they’re great and it’s folk like that, that have put me in the great position that I am in today, being Ireland’s bastion of popular music – well at least that’s what I hear them shouting at me during my set. So please Bono, Adam , Harry and the Hedge,please please don’t let the fans down – release the dvd of Slane. Afterall we all want to see Lord Henry mount Charles !
