The Irish Sunday Mirror reflects on the music career of The Edge’s brother Richard (“Dik”) Evans. The article amazingly neglects to mention that he was a founder member and guitarist of the Virgin Prunes for many years, then left the band in 1984. In the mid Nineties, Dik formed “Screech Owls” with Debbie Skow and released one single, “Desert/Hey Toreador” on Girl Records. He left the band before the release of their second single. Dik holds a degree in Neural Networking Technology. Although he isn’t currently pursuing a career in music, he did venture up on stage at The Edge’s 40th birthday bash last year for an impromptu rendition of the Virgin Prunes’s classic Sweethomeunderwhiteclouds.

Isn’t that Dik performing with U2 during the “America, Tribute to Heroes” performance?

They even made the story out to be some sort of never-revealed-before exclusive. Quick off the mark there, Daily Mirror. Doh!
