Ridiculous press quote of the week. The Mirror says U2’s beautiful Anton Corbijn directed promo video for Electrical Storm is a porn flick, “their raciest video ever” which “stars drummer LARRY MULLAN (sic) as a womanising sex maniac”.

We’ll leave some space here to allow for your roar of laughter.

  13. I’d take that as a compliment. At least U2 can still draw in the raw sexual tension, not really used in full since Achtung Baby. …… As for Larry looking young. If Edge dyed the beard he’d shave off 5 years from his appearance. Adam has always looked much older. Bono’s a reflecter face. In some lights, he looks 10 years older. In other lights, he looks 10 years younger, especially without the shades. Take a look at the Oprah interview. He looked 30-32, easily. However, in ES he looks like a leathery Popeye doll.

I think the towers in the beginning of the ‘Pride’ video are a phallic(sp?) symbol, must be a porn flick. Bono’s leather pants in the ‘I will follow’ vid. are waaay too tight, the way he dances aroung in them may make it a porn flick. What about the whole, “Is is art or is it pornography?” quote with the robot/cyber sex in the ‘Even Better that the Real Thing’ vid. Damn, I’ve been missing it ever since I first saw a U2 video in ’83, It’s all about the porno. What a fool I have been. All they need in the ‘Electrical Storm’ vid is the Edge on the 70s wa-wa peddle in the background. (Most of this post is sarcasm, by the way.)
