“Under a Pale Grey Sky” is the title of Sepultura‘s new live 2CD set, including their hit Roots Bloody Roots. The band is also about to release an EP with a cover of U2’s “Bullet the Blue Sky” and Massive Attack’s “Angel”. Andreas Kisser of Sepultura explained: “We chose the music of U2 because it’s unusual. It’s like a strongly worded letter with a heavy footnote.” (thx Prarit)

I’ll just try to see this as a compliment to U2, although it sounds more like they’re “taking them mickey” out of U2.

If I remember right, one of these guys got sober because of listening to U2, it was his church, like it is to so many of us U2 freaks… I might have the wrong band, but I am almost positive these guys are also U2 freaks regaurdless…

I think it’s pretty cool. Just because they aren’t U2, doesn’t mean they suck. They are a pretty wicked heavy band. You are right Bernhard, Max back in the band would be sweet.

Believe it or not, Sepultura are dedicated environmentalists who think Sting was a wanker for his 1989 Amazon rainforest campaign (nay, they were a wee bit harsher than “wanker”), but are BIG fans of U2, especially Bono who they reckon is the real deal.
Pity Death Metal sounds like a dying blowfly …

Having read the convincing replys over here, I’m getting a bit curious about Sepultura. I’ll defenately will check their new work.
