After watching the Slane broadcast on Ch4, we feel the Slane TV mix had the life sucked from it, but hey, you can hear the band really well: download fun for you all.

  5. Wow! It puts Boston to shame, and I’m only 3 songs in. A bit of emotion right there in Out of Control. They MUST release this on DVD.

  11. well the recording quality is great, but there should have been some more bass in it, but hell, that’s easily solved with an equalizer

  19. John D, Good Job, I am impressed, after being at both Gigs this is a bit of a gem to be able to listen to. DVD Will be released I can promise you, they couldn’t shelve this gem. All the songs are so much fuller in sound than anything I have heard live and guess who mixed the sound??? Yip LArry Mullen, I think we have a new live sound man for future recordings.

  20. John D, Good Job, I am impressed, after being at both Gigs this is a bit of a gem to be able to listen to. DVD Will be released I can promise you, they couldn’t shelve this gem. All the songs are so much fuller in sound than anything I have heard live and guess who mixed the sound??? Yip LArry Mullen, I think we have a new live sound man for future recordings.

  25. I’ve never heard that versin of ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ before. I love the slower pace and different key (I know it’s mainly to save Bono’s voice but,) it sounds almost mournful and sorrowful now. Reading those names at the end sent a chill. Something I thought that that song couldn’t do after hearing the ‘Rattle n’ Hum’ version a thousand times.

  31. Yup slight cut-out near the start of Stuck, so it’s not just you. Otherwise sounds fab! I rearranged the play order from the one on the site and presumably the show to what it would have really been. Fab opening from Bono on SBS…

  33. Hey John D. how is the remixing of the Joshua Tree coming along? Are you going to attempt re-working the guitar solo of Bullet? I would love to hear that! When do you figure all the remixes will be up? Looking forward to hearing what you have up your sleeve! And thank you so much for the Slane mp3s! I really think that the band would be stupid not to release the thing on dvd or at least a live cd. The songs sounds sooooo much better than they did on the Boston dvd, and it sounds like the concert was better too. Here’s hoping!

When they played Out Of Control in Toronto, I was front and centre in the heart and pretty much flipped…but this Slane version is INCREDIBLE!!!…The reworked guitar bits around 2:15 are amazing…and Sunday, Bloody Sunday has almost the same emotion from that performance given on the Rattle & Hum video…

  39. As much as I would LOVE to have Slane on DVD, if I had to choose, I’d choose to have it on a live CD instead. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished I had Boston on CD so I could listen to it in my car.

  45. If “Kite” had such significance with relation to Bono’s dad, and these concerts were pretty much right after he passed, why was “Kite” passed over in the track listing for the TV broadcast? Emotional, desperate Bono is good Bono.

  47. Wow!! what a response. Just to let you know, “stuck in a moment” had a problem on the recording. I don’t know what yet. But apart from that the mp3’s sholud be recorded in that order. It was that order for slane. Will try to get the remixing back on target but college is keeping me away from it!!

  49. Yes vonb, i was quite annoyed with the audience mix. You would expect a crowd of 80,000 (100,000 is the real number according to sources for each concert) to make a bigger roar. Seems a little tame. Hopefully the DVD or official release will solve these problems!!!!!!!!!!
