  1. Looked good. Band seems to be on “a God spirit”, on a higher level. Would it be too much to ask if someone would put the whole gig up in quality Mp3’s (192 or more). That would be a unbelievable christmas present for us U2 fans (not fanatics Larry!).

  7. If I can only remember my experience at Slane Castle for one song, it would be Out of Control. The shear energy, emotion, & passion in this version of the tune got me jumping up & down the entire length of the song. And that was after waiting through an endless eight hour cycle of mediocre bands in the Irish rain (not to mention crazed football hooligans hoping for a victory against Holland! :).

I have a feeling they’ll cut out Out of Conrtol for a more American-friendly tune. That would really, really suck, since this was the best song of the night. The TV special is bogus anyway. Release this on DVD for crying out loud.

At least they’re airing it at a somewhat high viewership time slot (Thanksgiving). Release the DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. I know, you’re right. Although I was more peeved by all of those terrible bands. Moby didn’t even get me excited. The only exciting pre-U2 moment was when Ireland scored and 80,000 people created a thunderous sound reminding me of a space shuttle launch. My complaints took a back seat when U2 took the stage.

  19. Yeah, Bono didn’t even thank that first band (the one that did a cover of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”). Either he forgot or because they sucked tremendously.
