Africa’s Great Plague

UK tabloid News of the World is the latest publication to promote Bono’s campaign to inform the world of the AIDS epidemic ravaging Africa. In its December 15th issue, the tabloid compiled a number of Bono’s statements on AIDS in Africa into a moving essay titled “Africa’s Great Plague.”

  3. I think the silence is mainly due to the fact that nothing Bono said in this article is something attentive U2 fans haven’t heard him say quite a few times recently. Not complacency, just “nothing new under the sun.” HOWEVER this week Stop Global AIDS has been urging supporters to call the White House comment line to let President Bush know that we want him to be certain to prioritize the AIDS crisis during his trip to Africa in 3 wks (rght now his agenda focuses mainly on oil-production, ugh). Please call. They don’t even ask your name or anything, just what state you have called from. LET THE WHITE HOUSE KNOW YOU SUPPORT BOLD ACTION TO STEM THE AFRICAN AIDS CRISIS!
