More Accolades

U2 have been nominated for an AOL Moviegoer Award in the category of Best Song for “The Hands That Built America” from “Gangs of New York.” According to a press release, the annual AOL Moviegoer Awards “reflect the voices of actual moviegoers who vote on their favorite films and performances, as well as the most memorable movie moments of 2002.” Moviegoers may cast their votes at AOL Keyword: AOL Moviegoer Awards or at Moviefone.com.Voting ends on March 10 and the winners will be announced on March 17.

U2 also have been nominated for a TRL Award in the category of Best Live Performance for their Times Square rooftop performance of “Beautiful Day.” MTV viewers determine who will receive the awards through an online ballot. The first-ever TRL Awards will air on MTV on February 17.
