It’s a shame Adam Clayton isn’t an option in the favourite bass player menu, or you’d just be able to vote for U2 as “greatest-ever Fantasy Rock Band” on the BBC site. Happy voting!

Sory this is off topic, but I just heard something awesome on VH1… The guy that does the top 20 countdown is hosting from the rock and roll hall of fame, and goes to the U2 exibit, where he makes it clear he’s a BIG fan… Then he goes to the Pop section and says on AMERICAN T.V. qoute: “I don’t care what anybody says, Pop was a great record, and the Popmart tour was an amazing show, if you didn’t go, you really missed out!!!” I thought all our Pop defenders would really like to hear that, and if your as tired of the all Rap (Emenem and 50 Cent only btw) channel called MTV, I suggest you turn it to VH1, they still play that other music, what was it called??? Oh yeah, Rock and Roll!!!
P.S., there are far too many musicians I would want on my list, but ALL of U2 would be on there!!! (and NIN, and Filter, and RHCP, and on and on and on…)

everyone here is missing out on the Big Man – Clarence Clemons. And Ryan, regarding the guy from VH1- I think you’re speaking of Aahmer or something like that, right? Anyway he interviewed Bono and Larry before the Elevation tv special, and was clearly FREAKED OUT OF HIS MIND and did a really embarrasing job. Anyway, it was horrifying in one sense, but also showed you that even people on tv have their heroes. He was soooo nervous. Good for him for defending Pop, though.

Aamer gave props to Adam Clayton for “Do You Feel Loved” when he interviewed U2. I think he praised his vibrations or something 🙂 Sounded like something Bono would say.

U2 was playing with Aahmer’s head after the MTV (or maybe VH1)awards a couple of years back.
Was pretty funny. It is nice to see an ordinary guy doing tv, though.

Bono is the man, but I have to admit, no one can touch Bowie vocally. Not even the man..IMHO

Alright, my two cents then…
On the creative and innovative front: David Bowie.
On the mood swings front: Nick Cave
On the “things you should never do with a violin” front: Warren Ellis of the Dirty Three
In the fashion department: Jarvis Cocker
And last but not least, in the ego department our very own: Bonzo!

Well, I suppose Eno would definitely be my top choice as far as keyboards, synthesizers and all sort of weird sounds and “colors” are concerned… then I’d get someone between Ringo, Stewart Copeland and Keith Moon to play drums, Jimi on guitar, Adam on bass and McCartney on vocals! wouldn’t be that bad, huh?
