“There’s no doubt in my mind that ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ wouldn’t and couldn’t have been written if it wasn’t for The Clash,” said The Edge at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday night.

Along with Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello, The Edge presented the induction award to the surviving members of the legendary punk band at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

In his speech, The Edge recalled how The Clash’s 1977 performance in Dublin impacted the members of U2.

“For everyone there, that show was an awakening,” said The Edge. “The revolution had come to town. By the end of the night, Dublin was a different place.”

Fans can watch the induction ceremony and performances on VH1 on Sunday, March 16 at 9 pm ET.

  1. Edge has his t-shirts custom done by the same girl that did all the Zoo apparel. My personal favourite was the “If you could CHOOSE any profession other than a musician what would it be?” in the Walk On video… rock’n’roll

  5. New York Times “The French connection brokering the deal among the Chinese producer, the Syrian land transporter and the Iraqi buyer is no great secret to the world’s arms merchants. French intelligence has long been aware of it.” Safire only learned of this from an Arab source a week ago. You have to think our government knows this, and I can think of a number of reasons why they wouldn’t tell us. This is stuff the inspectors will never find – nor should they be expected to. They’re there to verify Saddam’s claims that he’s disarming and not to turn the whole country upside down as if they have a search warrant.
