Professional U2-ligger Elvis Costello in Word magazine:
“[ … ] when you watch U2 on a [ large ] stage they build something much bigger than themselves. All U2’s songs are about love in one way or another. That’s a very courageous thing to do. They let go of themselves and when they do a song like One the feeling is unbelievable. I saw seven U2 shows last year and I could not see them enough. Their shows were the only shows I’ve ever seen that work in an arena. Everything else is bullshit or a trip to the circus.”
Sweet. Hearing a legend like Costello say this is amazing.

I love Elvis Costello. That’s a huge compliment from him because there’s no bullshit about Elvis – if he doesn’t like something, you’ll hear about it. If he and Bono were to duet (instead of ms jlo), now that would be a great rock moment.

He kept going to the ones I was at, too — every Elevation show I saw, that little grey derby was poking up out of the VIP area by the soundboard. Hilarious.
