Well, we gonna party like its your birthday

The African Well Fund have raised $10,253.18 in honour of Bono’s birthday. Its recent fundraising drive, launched on April 1, was a huge success.

The money will be used to build wells in Africa.

  7. Absolutely spectacular, what a wonderful way to celebrate the birthday of a man who “gets it,” and not just raising the cash, but people coming together to do the right thing. Congratulations all.

    On that note, to my fellow Americans, if you have not TELEPHONED your Senators and strongly urged them to introduce and pass a bill that strongly mimics the Global AIDS bill passed on May 1 by the House, PLEASE DO SO NOW! Just shoot over to http://www.senate.gov for their phone numbers, either local or in DC. We need this done by the end of the month so that Bush can take this to the G8 Summit in France and use it as leverage to get other G8 nations to kick in their fair share — it has a provision in it that sort of acts like a matching grant type of thing. And Bush will sign it, if the Senate gets on the stick. This is what Bono has been working so hard for all this time, and the people of Africa need and deserve our help — it is the most basic definition of human decency.

    So Happy, Happy Birthday Bono Baby, and lest we forget kids, to Jordan too!

    What can I say about such an incredible human being who we are graced with his presence! There are so many words to describe this wonderful person it is just endless! He encompasses so many things that very few human beings have. It is just so amazing that they are wrapped up into one human being. His virtues and beliefs are that of thousands of people. His compassion, passion and pure love for his fellow human beings just blows my mind! He never ceases to amaze me on a daily basis.
    His gift for writing of lyrics and his music are truly spectacular. I will forever be a the most passionate fan of U2 and their amazing music.

    I also contributed to the African Well Fund..I can’t get over how much was raised!!! He will be so proud and blown away as I am of my fellow U2 fans!
