Both the Mirror and Daily Star report that Kylie Minogue and Bono asked the management of London’s Red Bar in the Grosvenor House Hotel if it would close its doors to other patrons so the two could speak privately following the Ivor Novello Awards. Management happily obliged them, to the disappointment of other celebrities who were turned away from the VIP bar.

According to the Star, Kylie and Bono were seen “locked in conversation just inches from each other.” After 45 minutes, the two became aware that their request was causing problems and moved to a private room so the bar could open.

Apparently, all they really wanted was to relax after intense media and fan attention at the Novello Awards.
