This week Bono received props from two of the most influential women in the United States: Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.
In the senator and former first lady’s much-talked-about book Living History, which was released to phenomenal sales in the United States this week, Mrs. Clinton describes when she first met Bono in Ireland in 1995 and comments on his humanitarian work.
Midweek on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” the popular talk show host included a segment from Bono’s appearance on the show last September in a show that celebrated fatherhood. When Bono’s segment concluded, Oprah mentioned his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize and voiced her support, saying, “Deserve it…you do deserve it, Mr. Bono.”
