Hi res scans of Go Home DVD

Universal France have provided U2achtung.com with some hi-res images of the upcoming “Go Home” DVD. You’ll find them in the site’s left hand column. (That cover makes me think of football.)

  7. I know it’s a bit off topic from the new album news, but I just noticed Mysterious Ways gone from the setlist – the only song to do so. It also didn’t make the cut for Boston. Is there some licensing/copyright issue we’re not aware of that forces U2 to not put this track on BOTH dvd releases when it’s been played during filming of these concerts?!?!?

    Strange that MW is not on the disk: On the Boston DVD it had to do with soace limitation, but in this case???

  15. universal uk confirmed that mw is most certainly gonna be a hidden track on the dvd. i was mailing with a guy the other day in the u2logreaders yahoo group, he suggested personal/private reasons where involved in keeping off the dvd/video, because bono

  17. When I was in Dublin last October Gerry the guy on the gate at Principle Management told me that the band were going into ‘Christmas holidays/family time’. I guess U2’s Christmas must start in October and Summer break ends in September…my fingers are crossed for a March release!!

  19. Since Joshua Tree, U2 have always started a world tour in the month of April. I think it’s interesting that they will likely be going on tour just a few weeks after the album is released – they must have a lot of confidence in their new material – which is really good news for us!

I just hope the band does strong, early promotions before the album comes out with a tentative April tour start…They’ve always been most successful in terms of new songs being received when there’s been a good runup…By the time you go to show, you feel like the newies and oldies already – in a good way! U2 is one of the few bands I know where no one leaves when they pull out a new song live.

  25. I think putting tix on sale BEFORE releasing the record is a HUGE mistake.
    Then again, it’s the kind of mistake that will make it easier for me to get tix.

  29. I’m guessing the tour will be pushed back if the album doesn’t release until March. The last time they rushed a tour too soon after the album release was PopMart, which was not exactly a smash tour in the USA.

In my opinion, Popmart was one of the coolest, most daring, futuristic, artistic tours in history. Sure, the Jacksonville show wasn’t capacity, but what other band could draw 35,000 fans out into the rain for a good concert. “I guess you must be the die-hard’s”. Yes Bono…we are. 🙂

  39. I forgot to say that I think the cover to the Slane dvd would have been better without the monolith of ppl, and instead a good shot of the sheer masses of people there as a whole that made the day so spectacular. Was four5one behind this?

  41. Listen, I wasn’t there for PopMart, and all I know is what I’ve read… that the tour sales were disappointing, and it was partially blamed on the tickets going on sale too early in comparison to the album release. If you can refute that, then great. I will stand corrected.

    I didn’t mean anything bad about the artistic nature of the concerts.

  45. John, The tour did well in gross. One of the top grossing tours of 97/98. The critics feel a need to call something a failure when a band of U2’s stature doesn’t fill a stadium with the mainstream. All of U2’s fans were there. All the people drug along by U2 fans were not, which made the shows even better. Surely the people of Mexico City had it going on.

  59. Mysterious Ways seems to be the song that U2 don’t like to include on their dvds. I think its missing from the Live in Boston dvd too. U2’s reason: Space constraints on the dvd.

    It’s really ashame about womanfish. I found out last week.
