U2’s “One” has been named the greatest song ever recorded in a new poll conducted by Q magazine. The poll asked music experts to decide the 1001 best songs in music’s history. The results of the poll have been published in a special edition of the magazine, in which The Edge shares his reflections on U2’s music.

Top Ten of Q’s 1001 Best Songs Ever:

  3. I’m excited and all for U2, but some of the other songs in the top 10 aren’t exactly what I’d call “best.songs.EVAR.” I mean, seriously, “Independent Woman Part I?” Ah well, atleast “One” is getting the praise it deserves.

  9. I can agree with One=1, but independent women immediately makes this list useless. Decent Pop song, yes, 8th ever greatest, please… That’s like saying “Baby… One More Time” equals Magical Mystery Tour… It’s a joke…
