U2 received the “Q Icon” lifetime-achievement award (not to be confused with the “Q Inspiration” award, given to the Pet Shop Boys, or the “Q Merit” award, given to Shane McGowan, or the “Q Innovation In Sound” award, given to the Human League — by God, that’s a lot of old farts to celebrate) at the Q Music Awards in London today. They were pipped for the “Best Act In The World Today” gong by the Red Hot Chili Peppers — which is fair, we guess, since the Chili Peppers have gotten up off their duffs at some point in the past year and our boys, err, haven’t. (Or hadn’t until fairly recently, anyway).
Here are some lovely pictures of the stars arriving at the ceremony — sift around, there’s some good ones of U2 in there (the whole band attended the ceremony), including Bono with Nancy Sinatra.
