Bono takes over Today show

Bono is to be a guest editor on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme for one day between Christmas and the New Year. He is one of five celebrities to be given reign of the prestigious show this year. The Duchess of York, director Anthony Minghella, Sir Richard Branson and Baroness Onora O’Neill will be covering the rest of the week.

Last year, Thom York, Monica Ali and Stephen Hawking were the first stars to be put in charge of ‘Today’.

Bono will be working with the regular Today team to ensure the material is ‘newsworthy’ and stays ‘within BBC producers’ guidelines’. But if he needs a sub, several members of the u2log.com editing team are willing, capable and ready to test the limits of Auntie’s standards.

  1. Hmm…what would NOT fall within BBC producers’ guidelines?

One of Bono’s kids was found misbehaving today and got a good smack on the bottom. Several attempts were made to correct the child, including time-outs. However, the child continued to antagonize the mother and she suspects it is due to the missing father. Witnesses say that he had promised a piggy-back ride but instead, went to work in another country for the entire day. BBC will closely follow this story and check with our sources throughout the day.
