In the port of Amsterdam…

A lot of speculation has been going on about the stage setup for the Vertigo tour. There are rumours abound claiming the stage will be located in the middle of the floor. We can’t deny or confirm for all the show, but the website for the Amsterdam ArenA clearly states that the stage during the U2 shows will be located at the northside of the stadium (see picture below).

Amsterdam ArenA recently sent out a letter and preorder order form to it’s own members. Initially the ArenA presale is for the July 13 sale, but the letter also mentions they fully expect two additional concerts to be added on july 15 & 16.

The U2.com presale for the Amsterdam concert of July 13 will start on Tuesday the 1st of February, 10 am GMT. The general sale to these concerts will start on February 5, through http://www.ticketmaster.nl and all Ticket Service outlets.

  1. Mmm, and Ticketmaster refused to put a map online, because the megolomanic Arena was too big…

And how many times do i have to log in here????? Even if I want to be remembered?

  3. PopTart, take it up with Six Apart, makers of Movable Type and TypeKey. We’re tired of trying to fix it.

  5. Poptart, to get rid of the double, follow these steps:

    Go to http://www.typekey.com
Login with your username and password, you’ll be redirected to your profile page. On it, you can tick the option “When you comment on a weblog, send the weblog owner your email address”

U2log.com requires an email address to be sent with every comment left, hence this option needs to be on.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Actually, I switched the required e-mail thing off yesterday to make it easier. However, the javascript powering the cookie is faulty, so it doesn’t remember you’ve been here before. I’ve worked on this for days on end, but no luck so far.

  9. What about the seperate GA part at the front of the field? If you look at the floorplan for Brussels (hope to see you folks all there for the first of my european dates) there is a seperate part for € 85,- . Will they be doing something like that in the Amsterdam Arena?

  11. Oh, hum, topic. Yes. Right…

From reading the Mojo page, it seems there’ll be only one type of GA ticket in the ArenA.

I think Brussels may be an exception. Maybe they just always do it this way, to prevent people from queueing all day in the street.

To come back to the ArenA stage setup. Side from on their website, this was specifically mentioned in a mailing sent out to it’s/Ajax season ticket holders. They even went as far as specifying the seats in sections behind the stage (as per the layout above) would be relocated to another section.

  13. By the way, e, what do you mean “..to its own members..” ? Is there a priority ticketing for ‘friends of the A Arena’ or something? Why didn’t I know that?
