This year’s 47th Grammy Awards will be marked by a unique rendition of the Beatles’ Across the Universe, with all proceed going to the tsunami relief. Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich contacted Yoko Ono and managed to get the right to the song, which will be performed by such stars as Tim McGraw, Alicia Keys, Brian Wilson, Al Green, Stevie Wonder and of course our very own Bono, and all that backed by Velvet Revolver. After the performance, the song will be made available on iTunes, with the entire $.99 cost going to the tsunami relief charities.
In addition to this, donations will be taken via CBS.com which will offer an exclusive video stream of the performances, as well as some bonus footage.
The Grammy Awards will be broadcasted live on CBS, sunday February 13, 8pm Eastern Time.
